Prague & Cesky Krumlov

Had a lovely 3 days camping with Matt in Cesky Krumlov 3 hours south of Prague. A fabulous historic town, brilliant architecture & famous for it's varied roof designs

The landscape view above is of our campsite beneath the local town.

Derek took these photos in the gents loo at a beautiful shopping centre in Prague
At each urinal there were pictures of girls with either a tape measure, magnifying glass, ruler etc or having expressions ranging from pure delight to extreme disappointment, very intimidating for the poor man!!!

Prague

Spent our first afternoon walking around Prague over Charles bridge & up to the castle before meeting Mat at 5pm. We arranged to meet under the famous clock -not the best time as everybody was watching the characters & listening to the chimes.

Moving on to Prague through France & Germany

Our only stop in Germany was in Munster a little village outside Rothenberg ob der Tauber along the Romantische Strasse-The Romantic Way.
Apparently it runs from north of Nuremburg to the Italian border with lots of places to visit.
Rothenburg is a beautiful old town with lots of super architecture & very clean & tidy. Not a particularly sunny day when we were there!!
The campsite was full of Dutch as are many we've been to-there can't be many left in Holland. We decided to drive straight to Prague from here.

We stayed overnight in an aire in Kayserburg in eastern France close to the German border. A beautiful little town
We watched these storks on their nest precariously perched ontop of this roof. There were at least 2 babies in the nest.

A quick look at the Rhine as we crossed into Germany nearly missed it!!!.

Chilling out in France

St Cirq Lapopie another tourist town overlooking the river Lot with lots of interesting old buildings & plenty of shops!!.
Rocamadour is a beautiful old town built into the rocks. Very popular with tourists.
We visited a local flower festival at Tournon but came away empty handed. Every street in the town was packed out with various stalls-lots of bargains to be had.

Met a super English couple living nearby- John & Liz-a retired primary school teacher & a CDT teacher!! They live in a beautiful farmhouse to which they invited us back for lunch

George & Derek unwinding on the terrace & discussing the merits of the local vin rouge.

Every Sunday morning there is a thriving market in Montcuq with Loads of stalls selling things from clothes household items to the local produce like bread cheeses vegetables & of course the local wines.
The Cafe du Centre is a popular meeting place for coffees. This day there was a folk group entertaining the tired shoppers.
Just browsing in this picture -didn't buy a thing!!
