Martha's Vineyard

We caught a ferry to Martha's Vineyard. we used the local bus to go round the island. Saw the famous gingerbread houses.

Boston

We visited Boston or a day. A lovely city with lots of historical monuments gardens & of course skyscrapers.We went on the USS Constitution in the harbour.

Celebration

Annette & gordon celebrated their silver wedding whilst we were in the US.After a champagne brunch went to Province Town, onto a beach for sunset & then a lovely meal at an Italian restaurant in Hyannis.

Cape Cod

We rented a house in Cape Cod for 8 nights- a lovely little place convenient for visiting the island We met the owners who popped in for a drink.

More visits

We visited the garlic festival at saugerties Never seen so many types of garlic.
Visited the Renaissance Fair . Based on the American idea of English history.Interesting!!!

Empire State building

Don't know if I really enjoyed the views from the top!!

Derek crossed halfway across the Brooklyn Bridge I didn't quite get that far!!

Visits to NY

We visited NY for the first time with Annette & Gordon. Arrived @ Grand Central Station-lovely chandeliers. Visited ground Zero 2 days before tenth anniversary. Very moving Tied ribbon on church railings.Saw the flags on display @ Battery Park.

Our trip to the US

We stayed with our friends' family in Hopewell Junction NY State. We had a great welcome from fabulous hosts lovely food & a hot tub as well!!

Oswestry RV Rally

We attended our first ever rally in August .Our van looked really small compared to the big American RVs. Enjoyed the fancy dress & the line dancing!!

We visited our friends at Monnington Hall who are renting a cottage in the grounds Fabulous grounds with sculptures galore.

The Royal Hill

This is where we spent 10 happy weeks this summer . Quite near our old home so convenient for Oswestry where we sorted out our furniture etc A great little campsite with a pub next door.
